Studio

Studio Herenplaats offers people with a disability the possibility to be trained in the field of visual art.
After their training the artists are supported individually in their professional practice. Artists can choose whether to work seperately in small satellite studios or in a group. They also have the possibility to improve their printing techniques in the graphic workshop.

Outsider Art

Studio Herenplaats plays an important role in the promotion of 'Outsider Art' in the Netherlands.
"The artists detached from the mainstream art scène, create out of their own need for personal expression. Their work is therefore highly original and bears no relation to artistic tradition or fashion

The work of the Herenplaats artists have been incorporated into several important international collections such as the ´Collection De Stadshof´ in Gent (België), ´Collection de l'Art Brut´ in Lausanne (Switserland), The museum of ´Création Franche´ in Bègle (France) and the ´Intuit collection´ in Chicago (USA). Every year, Herenplaats presents its art during ´The Outsider Art Fair´ in New York City (USA).

Educational projects
The Herenplaats artists regularly cooperate with primary and secondary schools and high schools. In the Netherlands and abroad we organize lectures, workshops and exhibitions about ´Outsider Art´ and art in general.

Gallery
Herenplaats organizes remarkable exhibitions which focus on an 'alternative zone
where official art and Outsider Art can meet.

Publications
Herenplaats regularly publishes books and catalogues on the world of ´Outsider Art´ and related styles. We also sell colourful, original postcards and business gifts. Furthermore our artists work on commission.
