Za sklem o.s.

Za sklem o. s. is a non-governmental non-profit organization helping people on the autism spectrum and their families since 2011. It provides four types of social services: Expert Social Counseling, Social Activation Services, Social Rehabilitation and Day Service Centers at seven workplaces in the Czech Republic. It deals with advocacy, social and educational activities. As part of the services, Za sklem cooperates with the entire family and close surroundings of the client (school, workplace). It supports the activities of self-advocates with autism, initiates and promotes legislative changes in the area of care for people with ASD.

ATELIER ATRIUM is a safe and stimulating environment for clients of Za sklem o. s. - BRNO services, which supports their functional inclusion at any age. Atelier activities enables clients to discover, express, present and apply their artwork. The Atelier consists of an art, ceramic, textile/graphic studios and exhibition spaces, including a training gallery with a café. The team of the Atelier is made up of lecturers qualified in art and special pedagogy.

Work with clients between the ages of 1,5 to 64 is possible individually or in group in the fields of activation, education, relaxation, motivation and professional and social skills, depending on their focus, individual setting and priorities. Neither talent nor any necessary support is needed to become a client of Atelier. The outputs of the activities are presented both in the training gallery and in external exhibition spaces. Artistic creation helps the comprehensive development of the client's personality and their social skills and it is an opportunity to express themselves freely. To support the self-confidence of the author, we use the presentation of the outputs of his work to a close family, but also to the wider public. At the same time, exhibition activities help to destigmatize ASD and people with otherness and their work.
